Birds: What makes them tick?

I
just
lost
12 photos
and
a
post
I worked on
for nearly
two hours.
It
wasn't
my
fault.
I
can't
believe
it.
Thanks, Blogger.

I believe it. Three times in the last few weeks blogger has dumped my text. I wrote the posts, hit preview and POOF- all the words were gone!
DANG!!

Your kidding? I spend hours also but always type my postings on word off line (because I have dial up). Then I always jump on line and post them but never had the file disappear! I am sooo sorry Mary!

Blogger ate an entire post? Oh, gods!

That's just horrible! I'm sorry. :)

Peace,

Mon@rch has a good idea there, Mary.

That just sucks out loud.
***spanking Blogger right on its big fat fanny for you***

Darn blogger... should be sent to the corner for a bit! I am really sorry to hear this - it is disheartening. The last thing one feels like doing is re-typing everything.

Tomorrow will be better!! Hug for you from Kate ox

Poor Mary! I'm very sorry to hear it! They were probably great bird pics.
Like Monarch, I write the posts offline and save them to a file, with the photos saved in another file one by one. I keep saving as I go along, because a power glitch can disappear any unsaved file~
I even clip and paste the comments before I hit send, so I can repaste if Blogger disappears them in the middle of posting.
These precautions seemed perfectly normal until I wrote them down for you, Mary.... now they sound a little neurotic!

HI All,

I have a good method, too, which has been working quite well.

I first upload photos from Flickr -it's a breeze.

I type my text in a Word Doc (which is saved) then paste it to the end the post.

Then I move the photos throughout the post.

Last night, when I had finished all of that, I selected the entire post to center it. When I clicked on "center"...POOF! GONE!

Why can't Blogger add a "back" button???

I can easily recreate the post and will do it today. After that happened, I had to shut down the computer, count to ten, and go to bed.

Oh, I feeeeel your pain...

Mary--I like your idea of a back button with blogger.
Of course, when you want to change something, blogger seems so quick to grab.
I too do some of my posts in a word document--in fact, I am playing with words days in advance, depending on the subject.
Is there a place to send suggestions to blogger? I will look.

Noooooo! Nightmare! I'm so sorry Mary. Sending you a huge Hug!

oh, dear--the poetry of pain.

At least you can recreate the post, so we won't miss out on it. I LUURRRVVE your blog, so I don't want to miss a word!

Oh no Mary....what an upsetting thing for Blogger to do to you!!
Thank goodness you can recreate it!
But what a pain it must have been when it happened.

I don't blog yet....but I'm thinking about starting. Your experience gives me pause to hesitate though...

Mary,
Go look at Wordpress to see if you would like it. It does have a back button, and so far, I have "misplaced" my posts, but never lost them!

Ouch! That hurts.

You make me ashamed. I always feel like laughing out loud at your adversity :-) I am sorry that blogger treats you so badly. I have never been able to paste anything in to a post, it shuts me out everytime! I have learnt to save as a draft as I go along though, we have to find ways to catch blogger out and never let him (I am sure blogger is male!) win :-)
