Portrait of Bella

dscf2608

When I least expect it, a glance over my shoulder lends a photographic opportunity. That’s usually the way it happens. It’s all about perception and caring to notice...

Because the sun illuminated a bright spot on Daddy’s chair, there was no ado on my way for the camera. At times like this, I never want to excite the children.

dscf2610

Visions of hula hoops danced in her head. She had fun.

dscf2611

I’m so s-s-sleepy. Can I stay in Daddy’s chair?

Yes, you may stay, Bel. Be still, OK?

Not sure of my intentions, she focuses on something other than me, hoping I would not say the “Off” word.

dscf2612

Maybe fie don’t see you, you won't see me in Daddy’s chair.

dscf2616

Methinks I’m s-s-safe.
Ooops. My belly rumbled. Ahhh.
I feel much better now.

dscf2617

Am I pretty?

Yes, you are very pretty, Bel. Stay, please.

dscf2619

Ok. Can I get a cookie soon?

Wait a minute…

dscf2620

Color? Or black and white?

Happy Halloween!

I couldn't choose between b&w or color. They're both perfection.

The one where she has her eyes closed almost all the way makes me wonder if she's thinking, "If I close my eyes she can't see me."

Adorable pictures of Ms. Bella!!! Isn't she a sweetheart! And your house is gorgeous! Thanks bunches for your sweet comments on my pitifully neglected blog. :) Hugs to the Licker Sisters from the Barkin' Boys. :)

OH COLOR!! Definitely! It's all about the quality and warmth of the light (second only to the beauty and charms of Bella, of course!). These look like classic Vermeer paintings! I absolutely love these photographs and I smiled my way through this entire post... I will be looking at it again many times!
hugs and a happy halloween to you!

Oh, very nice photos, Mary! And definitely color. She looks spectacular that way and the warmth of her eyes really shows through.

I adore the whole turned head approach; that always tickles me. If I can't see you, surely you can't see me. I've seen that so often throughout life yet never grow tired of it. As Joy said, the closed eyes seem like a different approach to the same tactic. Very cute!

Hi Mary: Yes, I am finally out from the lurking shadows. The Flock has convinced me to comment more frequently. I read your blog every day, too. Love your sweet little Bella. What a cutie. Can't wait to meet you in West Virginia.

Color, I like color. Of course Bella looks beautiful in any light or color wave.

Bella glows in beauty. She is a darling girl. I especially love her sleepy, snoozy portrait.

Aren't they teir sweetest when all sleepy eyed and comfy. Just like a child you want to cuddle them. Bella's almost closed eyes tell she is secure in your love of her even when she is where she's not supposed to be. Love those Bostons- such facial expressions speaking volumes!

She looks so sweet posing so patiently for her pics. Glad you had your camera happy.
Now.....does she get her cookie?? Pretty please??

Beth,

Congratulations! You are no longer part of lurkerdom!

Nice to meet you - I'll see you in West Virginia. The rolling hills will never be the same :o)

Will you consider a blog? I enjoyed your trip to Cape May...

Hi All, thanks for your nice comments on Bella. She's not a perfect pup but knows how to show her most endearing qualities. Doesn't mind the camera, either :o) Now, I must concentrate on my older girl, Chloe. After surgery on a little soft tissue mass on her lower eyelid, I'll *try* to photograph her charm.

What beautiful pictures - you really caught the perfect lighting! My favorite is the last picture, but the color version - it shows off her beautiful eyes so well! I can't wait to see Chloe's potraits!

Everyone else has taken all the good adjectives, so I will just say, "Well done, Mary!" Lovely portrait of your girl.

Who else noticed the bird book on the coffee table in the first photo?

Such sweet, sweet captures Mary! She's so expressive and such a good subject. Shhhh... we won't tell that she was in daddy's chair. ;c)

Color, definitely. I like the contrast of the black and white, backed by other tones. Is she not allowed in Daddy's chair?

And, I like that chair--the colorful one in the 1st picture.
The peeks at your house make it look lovely.

Have a Wild Halloween, Mary!!!
I have to say that I like the B&W picture best; because of the mystery. I love to see B&W and then wonder what the colors are....quirky yes, but interesting!
Great pictures of a beautiful dog, as someone else already said, Boston's are very photogenic.

NatureWoman said...

Ah, pretty Bella! Did she get kicked out of Daddy's chair after the photo session?
