The Dog Days Remain

100_7338

Will September ever arrive and bring a cool breeze with it?

Today our tongues are dry. Swimming pools and garden hoses are not allowed. Sorry, Bel Bel, Chloe, Mr. Biggins, and Bamma Lamma Ding Dong.

Let's all go inside and watch Everybody Loves Raymond.
It's too hot for words and playful dogs.

I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to make a trip up to Hasty Brook this weekend. They're froecasting lows around 40 degrees and highs around 60! I'll try to send it along down to you. You won't want our winter temps though! It was another hot sticky day here too. Love that Bella!

Heat just sucks. There's no other way to say it. (well, there is but... :)

I hope it cools down soon. Hot weather is just so draining!

It's beginning to cool off here, although I'd hardly consider it September-like.

Peace,

Poor doggies--they all look doggone hot and doggone tired.
My dog can't stand the heat--and even though she loves walks, she wants to get back inside as soon as she can.
I am watching weather hoping a hurricane comes up the east coast with just enough rain (but no destruction).

Poor pooches just want to play in some water. Hope it cools down for you, but for us it can stay just like it is here now. Oh well, I can dream!

Whoa! Let's go with Lynne:0)

Geeze, Mary. They may be hot, but they sure are cute. I'm glad they like Everybody Loves Raymond. Thank goodness for reruns.

I love Everybody Loves Raymond. I watch it all the time. Takes my mind off the dry weather or whatever my troubles are.

You soo need to get these guys some kid pools for them to play in! O, wait you are not allowed to use the water!

Still? We are about 25 during the day now and cools to 15 at night. Poor dogs look doggone hot.

Great pictures, Mary. Sorry it's so hot there and once again, I hope it cools down soon.

Hugs,

Hey Mary just run a nice cool bath and let them jump in! Bet they'd love it and you would get some great pictures, too! The clean up might not be too much fun though.
They are such sweeties . . .

I think it's slowly coming Mary. It is 66 here this AM... almost, dare I say, feeling cool? Come on fall!

You could leave a comment in my &*(&^*% 'Smilnsigh' blog!!!! Wow!!!! Or in Valley Girl Speak.. "Totally Wow!" {I guess that's Valley Girl Speak, but what do I know about that stuff? -giggles-}

But why now! What magic happened, that allowed you to comment?!? If only we knew!

Mary...it's cooling down. Promise.

I was taken aback when I saw your sun-throug-the-trees photo. Look at the last picture posted here: http://graceeveryday.blogspot.com/2007/08/captain-charlie-himself.html
- and tell me if it doesn't look like you and I were standing right beside each other.

That would be fun, by the way!

Oh goodness! Thirsty dogs, ready for some water, some ice cream, and some lovin' from Mama while you all watch TV. That's the good life!

What sweet doggies! Fall's on the way. In fact, it's making a guest appearance in Wisconsin next week. Gearing up for its regular gig. And I just saw another monarch lay a bunch of eggs in the milkweed patch yesterday. *sigh*

Thanks dear Mary for the greetings to Sofia and kind words to us! Sofia will be very happy with your nice words and compliments!

Have a cool day!

Dear Mary,
September will come soon, I promise. You really have had too hot and too dry for too long. Even in the heat you take marvelous photos. Pups look hot. Poor babies...couch time and cool drinks for everyone. That includes you!

Poor babies....Those pink tongues hanging halfway to the ground.

My hounds are looking forward to cooler days when I will let them run around in the yard again. They're silly and would run after bunnies or chipmunks. We've had problems with them getting heat exhaustion in the past, so I'm much more restrictive with their activity this summer.

nina at Nature Remains. said...

I haven't heard water restrictions for our area, just "suggestions"--we're now considered "extreme drought".
Promises of rain sometime in the next 72 hours--I'll be standing out in it, face up!

Wish I could send you our southeastern Pa. weather. The nights are about 60 and the days 80's...my idea of ideal weather. They are calling for rain on Monday and Tuesday...hopefully it will come your way too. The dogs look like they could use a long cool shower!

All the puppies look parched - I hope they perked up with 'Everybody Loves Raymond'!

I'd happily send some of our cool September weather your way if I could. I'm sitting out in the garden with my laptop wearing two sweater and wrapped up in a blanket.

Have a good weekend!

It's hot and muggy steamy here too..can't breathe hibernating in the airconditioned house listening to Luciano!!

Mary, I think some of your hot air slipped up here! Our temp was 88º today, with humidity. But for us, it is only supposed to last another day.

I hope you and the dogs get some relief soon.

Mary, I just love your dogs! They bring a smile to my face. Thank you so much for your encouragement. I will find people to help. xo nita

The photos of the dogs say it all!

It's mid-90's here, which is plenty hot for me, but that's 10 degrees less than last September. Seeing your photos make me feel bad for you, Mary...and for your poor furry dog-children, too.

My mom and sisters and their families love 'Raymond' and I don't. Please don't throw stones, but his whine would make me feel even hotter.

Absolutely loved all the shots of doggies - esp the last one who seemed to blame the heat on the photographer!

Raymond and Seinfeld were two of my favorites!

Love your dog photos, Mary. :) They're so cute, and they look as spoiled as ours are! lol I take mine out in this heat and humidity, and they pull back towards the house, always anxious to get back into the air conditioned house.

Hope it cools down and -rains- soon! We had to rake back our mulch and landscaping fabric and water our foundation plantings this weekend, the evergreens are even stressing in this drought.

Cooler weather and rain -have- to come for us soon...
