I am in a snit.

100_7701

!$%&*!#* !

My photos are worth dirt today and I'm not happy. I'm irritated about the whole day. Little setbacks and imaginary gnats flying around my head make me grit my teeth.

100_7710
Thank you for making me wait, young lady. You are lovely.

I’m in a snit.

My right eye has an annoying twitch.

Water restrictions will become more severe soon but I planted Coneflowers today with high hopes. I’ll haul buckets of water to them in the evenings until it rains again – maybe in two weeks. Garden hoses are not allowed!

100_7722
Of course, no one visited. I waited for a while but the butterflies didn’t notice them.

100_7724

They seemed interested in ratty, dried up Canna, instead, and flew away while I was navigating over rocks in my Crocs to get closer.

100_7715

I see a fetus. Maybe the twitch in my eye is affecting my vision.

Tomorrow is another day.
Deep sigh...

The day wasn't a total loss, however. OJ and Marsha Clark met in the same courtroom. Very cool!

The photos were beautiful anyway. :)

OJ: I was wondering if Chris Darden would show up, too. LOL

It's definitely been OJ Day on all the news channels.

Peace,

Dear Mary,
You are a funny lady! Little Miss Cardinal is very lovely, worth the wait. You have Monarchs!!! Yeah!
Be careful and no slipping! We are going to get you a super zooming lens so you can take butterfly photos while you relax with a nice iced beverage.
I think I see a butterfly in your clouds!
The butterflies will love the cone flowers. Swallowtails love them! Chopping wood and carrying water, it is what we do. So sorry no rain. Back to chanting...
OJ??? orange juice? in court? How nice. Every one will feel much better after they have had a nice refreshing drink. Hope it is organic juice.

I think your photos are beautiful Mary! I love female cardinals and echinacea - I would like to plant more, too! Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be better- I promise! You could post a picture of a dust bunny and it would be great!

They turned out great for sure! Both Cardinal shots help tell the story! Also, water problems have been all over but we have been lucky for sure! Hope your cone flowers do good and Love your Monarch shot! BRAVO

Oh Mare, I know I shouldn't laugh at someone who's in a snit because it just makes them snittier (at least that's the way it works for me...)

Your pictures are great and I'm so happy to see a monarch at your place (did you notice if there was a tag on the wing?)

So I'm wondering...can you sneak a hose out into the yard under the cover of darkness or do your neighbors tattle to the water police???

Mary said...

Ruthie, I have a lot of Monarchs but of all the butterflies, they escape me the most. I didn't notice a tag - I had one chance for a shot and I was far away... snit snit snit.

We can use outside water (sprinklers/hoses) on Thurs. & Sunday. I don't take chances on the "water police" - they are giving fines. I don't think my neighbors would report, but you never know for sure. I WILL top my pond with a hose - there's too much to lose.

It's Ok to laugh! I am, too, since the day is almost done!

Linne, LOL! Yeah, I'm in SNIT CITY today and my face proves it.

That's all that has you in a snit? I was stung twice by a yellow jacket yesterday. Now that will put you in a snit for sure!

Cheer up--you still take the best photos--eye twitch or not, snit or not.
Hmmm--the clouds--I thought it was the energizer bunny!

OMG that picture that Susan made reference to is a hoot.
Mary sorry your day is snitty but you did make me laugh.

My sympathies on the water restrictions. We had the 'watering cans only' rule one summer and it was horrible.

Think about this, Mary - a year ago, a crappy day might have no purpose. But now if you're in a snit it can feed the blog, giving amusement to your readers... blogs are so cool, aren't they?

I didn't hear about Marsha Clark and O.J. meeting again in court!

Sorry you're in a snit. I loved the photo of the little cardinal's back side :-)

Regarding the cloud, it looks like the profile of a squirrel to me.

Oh, some days just suck and nothing can make them better. It's getting closer to the weekend - that's one positive thing!

Hang in there. Those young cardinals always look a little ratty to me. We have three hanging around and they look like they just woke up all the time.

The photos are still very lovely I pray for rain for you Mary

I know Mary... just when we thought it was over... it's supposed to be 90 here this weekend. Bleh! Beautiful cardinal! Snit away, girl, snit away!

When industrious, borderline postal blog ants go into a snit all they have to do is pull out a shiny happy post, sometimes made weeks earlier...notice a trend? I'm still bloggin' Labor Day, girl.

Mary said...

Julie - I thought you'd have posts stored *prior* to Labor Day! I can't help it. I'm a hopeless grasshopper who gets into snits with only myself to blame.

Oh, Mary, even in a snit--I LOVE your posts and your photos. And the cardinal booty is still cute!

I agree with G--you need a nice big lens so you can stand back! Can't wait to save enough pennies to buy one of those big-time Canon Rebels with the 300mm lens. What with the Cape May weekend, it won't happen this year!

I dunno what you're talking about. The photos are clear and captivating as usual. Though the coneflower shot is especially gorgeous!

And we are actually getting our first rains - YIPEEE! Hope you keep getting yours, too.

I like your photos, and what kind of cone flowers were they?

You can even make a bad day sound humorous. That little cardinal has a strange look in her eye, don't you think?

The nice thing about rotten days is that it makes the good ones seem so much better.

Your photos are always gorgeous Mary, even in a snit! lol
Hope you had a better day today. :)

I tried to think of something witty about your snits and twitches but couldn't pull it off. Your cone flowers are so lovely - I only have pink ones.

Wow but there are a lot of gals, having these Crapola days! I was feeling alone. But since I came back to reading blogs, I see it's going around. The Crapola thing. Oh wow yes! -sigh-

May better days be on their way!

Mary! I've missed your whimsical take. Snit on my friend. You make me laugh out loud. And my gosh - Yes! That is for sure - a fetus. We share a penchant for seeing things up there in the blue.

As always, Mary, you made me laugh. I've missed you so much. I hope to find time to catch up on my blog reading and post sometime soon. It's been a wild ride lately and it isn't even close to over.

Hugs,
