Poor Kitty and American Idol Review

100_5808

Another gift for the Licker Sisters. $11.99. After all, we left them for an entire weekend.

100_5802

It happened so quickly… the massacre of a poor, stuffed kitty. The high-speed flapping of kitty limbs could be heard in the next room.

Note: I love kitties but apparently the Licker Sisters regard them as disgusting vermin.

100_5804

Kitty stitches are beginning to separate during this battle for possession. Licker Sisters hear a squeaker somewhere inside its innards and fuels their fire.

100_5807

Bella won possession of the Dirty Rotten Kitty for a brief moment before I saved the poor feline.

Hello?

Are there any American Idol Fans out there?

Am I the only die-hard fan who has dozed on Tuesday nights since January? I worked on Tuesday blog posts while half-listening to a little talent.

Michael is addicted this year but swears he won’t watch next year. I challenged him, “Oh, Yes You Will!”

Next season, we’ll watch and wait for the chill factor he’s never experienced on AI.

Does anyone remember Fantasia’s “Summertime”? That performance floored me. I’ll never forget it.

Clay Aiken, geek to superstar. Chris Daughtry, consistently in the top 40. How about the tremendous voice of Kelly Clarkson? Ruben Studdard from Alabama has/had a voice to be compared with Luther and Barry. What happened to Ruben?

Let’s not forget my AI star, Taylor Hicks, who made me stand up and dance. Where in the hell IS he?

For me, this season’s highlights have been Paula’s blunders and Simon’s spot-on reviews. Young Dave has a wonderful voice but has a personality of a baby stuffed animal (Kuala Bear?). Sykesha (or whatever the name) is a Diva and we might hear more of her, no matter the outcome. David Cook has it all…after hearing him sing Roberta Flack yesterday, I cheered for him.

But, no chills this year for me, dog.
Is something wrong with me?

There's nothing wrong with you. Nice gift for the Licker Sisters btw. Did I tell you a hummingbird visited my hummingbird feeder the other day? Yes! Very exciting and I'm sure if it will warm up and stop raining, more will come visit.

I watch AI off and on. I think you are right about this year, no chills, but decent contestants and PA is bizarre. An act? Oh, it's coming on now, gotta go!

Bella and Chloe sure look to be enjoying their new toy!

I love to watch the AI auditions at the beginning of every season but once the competition starts I lose interest.

Right from the beginning, something about Syeshia rubbed me the wrong way. You're right about the young David- great voice but personality lacking. David Cook will take it. I don't think I heard a goose-bump performance this season either.

But I still watch it every week! :)

I watched AI once or twice with my daughter--in its early season. I couldn't bear the "cruelty" of people being voted off the show. There's enough rejection in life without enshrining it on tv. So, I am an AI drop-out.
I prefer crime shows--you know, where people get killed. LOL. Rejection, no; murder, yes. Hmmm--what does that say about me.

OMG, Mare--Bella looks absolutely vicious with that kitty in her mouth!! Was she growling when you took that picture??

I watched the entire Kelly Pickler/Chris Daughtry/Taylor Hicks year of AI (and that was the only time). I'm not a dedicated enough TV watcher to be able to commit to that many weeks of regular viewing--especially once spring gets here and I can be back outside again. Plus, Paula is just too strange!

Thankfully that's not a real kitty :)
Looks like they had fun!
Until last night Paula seemed to almost always find something positive to say, no matter what. Last night she was a little more critical.
I'm thinking David Cook will win, but I'm not terribly excited about any of the 3.

We love Doggy Hoots toys, too, but we get 'em at Wally World because they don't last very long. Bacon has a gallery of gutted carcasses that he keeps in an enormous tub that smells like old socks.I loved these shots.

American Idol this year. It's just a'ight for me, dog.

I like Cook fine; we refer to David Archuleta as "The Basket of Dying Puppies" or "Oop-Oop the Chimp"; Syesha's fine, has her moments, but we're figgering it's Cook all the way. I just hope his producers let him be David Cook and don't try to make him sing those gawd-awful We Are The World losers, or plodding anthems to nothing. I miss Tyler Hicks, too. He got me up and jumping around like a nutbar, blasting his performances through the big speakers.

What the Hell is wrong with all of you people?
American Flippin' Idol?????
: )
I have never, ever watched that show. And I don't see myself doing it any time soon. I don't watch Dancing With the Stars, either.
So there.
Seeing the Girls ripping that kitty apart brought back memories of Boomer. But I had to laugh at those rolling, crazy eyes.....sic 'em, Girls!

David Cook should win, but it will probably be Archuleta which would, in the end, probably be better for Cook. I mean Chris Daughtry has had more freedom to do what he wanted to do and MUCH more success. Archuleta needs someone to guide his every step and will be the pop sensation Idol likes.

My name is Jayne and I am a reality show watcher. Yep. Idol. Dancing with the Stars, Survivor, Big Brother. Yep, I need a life apparently. :c)

I don't understand why you "saved" the kitty. In order to let the sisters can have another go at it? Surely you see the end of this story. It's just a matter of timing.

Can't help you with the American Idol thing. Never understood why people would intentionally listen to terrible music. But I know many intelligent, articulate, and otherwise normal people who absolutely love the show. Perhaps I should watch it to understand its appeal to the masses.

The Licker Sisters are so funny tearing that poor kitty apart ~ my dogs do the same thing!

I'm a fan of AI and I think the personalities are just not there this year. I believe David Cook will win.

Have a great day!

Donna

My puppy has one of those...his is called Big Mean Kitty and is purple. There's picture on my blog.

I love Idol, but this year has been a snooze-fest. There has been so much negative publicity online, from David Archuletta's dad to Carly Smithson's former recording contract, to the possiblility of "plants" getting through to make the show more interesting. This will probably be my last year of Idol.

I have never watched American Idol so can't pass any comment.

Your dogs are so funny....pure utter entertainment. You must spend your time just watching them. They are a tonic.

Dear Mary,
The darling Licker Sisters could have their own show.
No idea about American Idol. LOL!!
Happy Hummingbirds!

Just wanted to drop a note to say how much I've been enjoying your blog lately. The bird photos have been beautiful - and the frog's too :) - you have all same feeders I do! Haven't managed to bring in a woodpecker yet, or a hummingbird, but hope springs eternal. I'm in northeast IL and get mourning doves, white-throated sparrows, house finches, goldfinches, cardinals, black-capped chickadees, a rose-breasted nuthatch, and two squirrels. Thanks so much for blogging; I enjoy all your posts.

It's nearly two days after you posted this, so I'm wondering if there's anything left of the kitty.:) Bella and Chloe look like they are having a great time. We learned very quickly with our late dog Roco not to buy him any stuffed toys: within seconds there would be stuffing all over the place!
This is my first year of really getting "into" American Idol, so I can't compare to past years. But I am hooked this year and a big fan of David Cook. I like rockers who can actually sing!

Well I must keep my sweet felines away from your "Licker sisters!" EEEKS!! Love the intense concentration in that last photo!LOL

Yes I am an American Idol fan and that sweet baby has a wonderful voice but he would be eaten alive by all the record label people so I guess I'll vote for David as he has the whole package..a quiet gentle spirit with a HUGE voice!
How about dancing w/ the stars!!! I love that show...wish I could be a contestant...quick make me a blog celebrity so I can enter???? Oh I forgot about my recovering fractured ankle...a girl can always dream!
You are always too funny my funny blogging friend!! hugs

Love the doggie war.
My confession, I've never watched AI.

Well *obviously* the problem is AI is the lack of contenders from the Birmingham area! It was much more interesting with either Bo, Ruben, or Taylor, don't you agree?

Seriously though, it's strange, since I thought the overall group was better than aby one had ever been before. But individually there wasn't really anyone who thrilled me this year. I liked DreadHead but he was too slackery to win I guess. I liked BlondiCurls too but she had a lot of issues... maybe both of them will do better without the stress of competition.

I really thought the most interesting person was the guy who didn't even make the finals -- the one who lived out of his car.

I will admit that AI makes me shudder. If I have the tv on and I'm in another room and hear that theme song I have to rush to turn it off!!

They sell those kind of toys stuffed with catnip. My cats thoroughly enjoy biting and scratching up their George Bush catnip toy :-)

I know I'm late but had to pop in and say yes I am an AI fan. Getting to the point I don't care for Archuleta so going for Cook.
