Lame Post & Photos - Short & Sweet

Today just wasn't conducive to cooking up a post. Too frazzled. Did manage to take two strange photos, though.

This morning at 6:30 a.m., while I was scurrying to find the right pair of shoes to wear and getting ready to leave for work, I noticed that Bella was acting a bit out of character. A week ago, she was desperately trying to scratch her right ear off so I took her to the vet. He prescribed anti-fungal drops in both ears, twice a day, for two weeks. Bella, being smarter than I give her credit for, realized this morning it was time for those dreaded, smelly drops and decided to protect herself.

"She can't see me. I'm safe."

I was very busy but HAD to find the camera...Giggling the whole time, which is something I never do at 6:30 a.m...

"Is she gone yet?"

Bird Watching for Dummies, by Bill Thompson III from Amazon arrived in the mail today. Took a quick look at the author's Top 40 Favorite Birds and saw a photo of the Great... blue... heron. Hmmm. Author quotes, "Because they are large and easily seen, great blue herons are one of the species most likely to be appreciated by non-bird watchers." Oh, yes, I wholeheartedly appreciated that defiant, brazen, Great blue heron when he visited my ponds in Maryland and Delaware and managed to gulp down my entire fish stock on two occasions! But, by golly, that bird was truly magnificent!!! I was near enough to make eye contact with the thief.

Stinker.

I don't know what made me laugh more the pics of Bella or your comments on the Great Blue Herons...Wait till the Zick and BT3 get ahold of you HAHAHA. You can not be a bird watcher and a bird basher in the same blog, my friend.

I disagree, especially where pond fish are involved.

I've been doing the ear meds thing with my dog for over a year! As soon as I think it's gone and stop giving the meds the infection comes back. Poor thing!

Have to give yours credit for hiding under the furniture (ha!) - mine tries to hide behind my husband (the great protector of poor abused doggies).

Thanks for the laughs!

:) My dog hides under the couch when I even look like I'm thinking of giving her a bath/giving her ear drops/about to do anything she disagree with.

GB Herons...my totem bird, if I had to choose one.
Someday I will have a pond large enough to get herons to investigate. And I will stock fish just for the heron.
Those pics are so cute, I just want to slap someone.
Nellie, our big dumb dog, slinks away like a sissy when I get out the nail clippers, but she likes meds because I hide them in pepperoni or colby cheese. :)

Susan, if I had the room, I'd love nothing more than to have a large pond stocked with feeder fish to attract herons. With my small pond I'm too sappy for that...the fish and frogs I tend to are pets who race to the edge when they hear me nearby. Yea, I'm goofy that way :)
